To get the best value, Vicki did a Stress Away comparison in a spreadsheet to see which costs less per milliliter.
The three items described on this page are all available from Young Living Essential Oils.
Quoting the corporate website: “Young Living’s Stress Away™ essential oil blend is a natural solution created to combat normal stresses that creep into everyday life. Stress Away is the first product to contain the unique stress-relieving combination of Lime and Vanilla pure essential oils.”
We compared:
- The 15-ml bottle of Stress Away essential oil blend with a roller fitment on top; and
- The 10-ml roll-on tube.
This comparison has been done with both retail and wholesale costs (not including tax or shipping).
Naturally, we had to add the cost of one roller fitment and cap to the cost of one 15-ml bottle of Stress Away to get the combined cost for that product. Roller fitments come in a package of 10.

Our Introduction to Stress Away Essential Oil Blend
We were introduced to Young Living’s Stress Away essential oil blend during Young Living’s 2013 International Grand Convention in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Some time after eating at a restaurant, Mike realized that the credit card with which he had paid for our meal had not been returned to him.
Mike called the restaurant and they were unable to locate the card.
The following evening, we were scheduled to attend a paid event. Prior to that event, Mike visited the restaurant.
When he arrived at the paid event, because his credit card could not be located, Mike’s stress level was very high.
A lady who was sitting in the row in front of us heard us talking and asked if Mike was stressed out. He said yes. She reached into her purse, got out her Stress Away roll-on and handed it to Mike, telling him how to use it.
Mike inverted the tube and rolled the ball around on his left hand three times and returned the product to the lady.
He rubbed his palms together and then cupped his hands over his nose to inhale deeply numerous times.
Within less than a minute, Mike could feel his stress literally drain away.

How to Install a Roller Fitment
It is very easy to install a roller fitment on a bottle of essential oil.
First, remove the drop reducer or orifice reducer from the mouth of the bottle by hand or with a fork.
Then, place the roller fitment opening into the mouth of the bottle, place the cap on top and tighten it so that the fitment opening slides down fully into the mouth of the bottle. You may or may not hear or feel a slight “click” during this action.
Can I Reuse a Roller Fitment to Save Money?
As part of our Stress Away comparison, we need to address “reuse” of a roller fitment.
To reduce the cost of using a roller fitment even further, it may be possible to use it on a second bottle of product.
However, we have found that the roller fitment fits tightly in the mouth of the bottle in which it is inserted, necessitating the use a wrench to remove it.
Vicki has found that the pressure needed to remove the roller fitment from a bottle may damage it.
The cost of a roller fitment is so low that it is best to use a new one on each new bottle of essential oil where it is to be placed. If you’re bound and determined to lower your cost by reusing a roller fitment, it is also best to reuse it on a bottle of the same essential oil (single or blend) as it was used on the first time.
Bear in mind that if you save the original drop reducer and cap at the time you replace them with the roller fitment, you may be able to reuse the bottle for sharing a sample of Stress Away with someone else!
Conclusion
If you’re traveling and space is tight, obviously the roll-on product may work better for you.
However, this Stress Away comparison proves that if you have the space and want to save money, adapting a 15-ml bottle of Stress Away with a roller fitment is the more cost effective solution. (There really isn’t much difference in the physical size between the two products and Vicki has been known to carry the adapted Stress Away bottle with her in her belly pouch.)
We carry Stress Away with us when we travel. Mike has taken the roll-on with him in the trucks he has driven. Vicki uses the adapted bottle at home. This is our favorite stress-relieving product.
