In January 2017, we were privileged to watch the movie Hidden Figures at a nearby theater. We’re so thankful that the racism that existed in the 1960s era in the USA has largely been eradicated. But when we read selected articles, we are reminded that households of color still face a bit of discrimination within the standard marketplace.
And therein lies the rub. There are two types of employer-supplied income:
- that which comes from working for someone else (where income is almost always capped in some way); and
- that which comes from working for yourself (where income may be uncapped).
We feel that it is time for households of color to experience the type of income, wealth generation and financial security that can come only from self-employment, specifically starting and operating a home-based business in a carefully selected network marketing company. (Some people refer to these as “relationship marketing” companies and they are correct.)
There are groups of people who have been told all their lives that they can’t do something. Well, scientifically speaking, honeybees shouldn’t be able to fly, but they do!
The article stated:
“Equal achievements in key economic indicators, such as employment and education, do not lead to equal levels of wealth and financial security for households of color. White households have a leg up, while households of color face systematic barriers to growing wealth, reproducing our long-standing racial wealth gap over generations. Without policies that combat ingrained wealth inequalities, the racial wealth gap that we see today will continue to persist.”
We disagree. No new “policies” need to be put in place. People of color and households of color simply need to see which income opportunities provide the greatest chance of providing wealth and reach forward to take one.
There are no “systematic barriers to growing wealth” within network marketing. The power of networking is available for all who are willing to use it.
The network marketing profession doesn’t care
- what your occupational background is,
- how old you are,
- what season of life you’re in,
- what ethnic background you hail from,
- whether or not you have a college degree,
- which gender you are,
- whether or not you have a CDL, or
- perhaps a hundred different ways that we tend to classify ourselves.
If you
- want more than you’re currently experiencing,
- have a white hot burning desire to succeed,
- are coachable,
- have 5-10 hours or more per week during which you can work a business, and
- have a little bit of start-up capital,
