Dr. David Stewart wrote the following in “The Chemistry of Essential Oils Made Simple,” under “Deliberate Fraud” (p. 12 ff):
“A common practice is to take a decent grade of essential oil and dilute it 90% to 95% with an odorless, colorless solvent (usually an inexpensive petrochemical) so that what was a pound of good oil becomes ten or twenty pounds of diluted oil to be sold as if it were the original substance, thus multiplying the profit. Such diluted oils often carry labels saying ‘Genuine’ or ‘100% pure,’ which is allowed by the U.S. FDA.”

Who Are We? Why Listen to Us?
We are Mike and Vicki Simons and we believe what is written in 2 Peter 1:3:

We met in 1991 and married later that year.
We took this photo of us on our 25th wedding anniversary in 2016.
We’ve been Young Living members since 2012, following our introduction to the company’s products shortly after Mike was involved in an on-the-job trucking accident.
The Lord healed Mike in significant part due to a Young Living essential oil blend, first a sample we were given and then more of that product which we bought.
Vicki had a number of wrong ideas about essential oils to overcome — and part of what’s on this page is as a result of her own research.

No Joke: The Bible Refers To Essential Oils
The Bible contains 33 species and more than 500 references to essential oils and the aromatic plants from which they come.
As examples, feel free to look up references to the following:

In Luke 10:25-37, we read The Parable of The Good Samaritan, in which the kind man went to the injuried man and bandaged his wounds, pouring on oil and wine.
Check For An Expiration Date
Since essential oils have been found long after they were first produced — with great potency — one way to check to see if an essential oil is pure is to look for an expiration date on the bottom of the bottle.
Young Living’s essential oil bottles have no expiration date on the bottom.
